Pufferpack
Fish Herder
Back to the subject of Humpbacked puffers. Tetraodon palembangensis, aka Dragon Puffer, Black River Puffer, is a lurking predator that will bury itself in the sand with only the eyeballs exposed and wait for prey to swim, crawl, scuttle by, then like lightning it will strike, killing and eating it's victim. While Palembangs do grow to about 8 inches, they can be housed in smaler tanks (20 gal would work) due to their sedentary nature. These fish are best kept in a species only tank with no tankmates (well none that you care for anyways, because eventually they will all be prey regardless of size)
This species of puffer is found to be more active in the twilight hours and should be more active in tanks with low lighting to help simulate dusk/dawn. Heavy planting is not necessary with these puffers, but a substrata of sand is prefered over gravel.
