Anyone got any info on this fish (also called a violet goby i think).
I've been offered one that needs rehousing, and will be adding it to a well established aquarium, of about 160 litres (4 foot by 15 inches square)
Would this fish be ok to live with a few shoalers and about 10 assorted cichlids?

what cichlids you plan on housing w/the gobies?IME the gobies won't do well w/most cichlids and i could be wrong but i think your gobies are brackish water fish.

I have 2 violet gobies in my community tank. They're very peaceful even though they look scarey - they feed on frozen foods and don't like flake.and get to about 15" long. Most of the time they hide away and only come out at feeding time and they like to live in pipe like ornaments. It very much depends what cichlids you have - also make sure that the one you are being given is a freshwater one - there are 2 types - fresh water and brackish. If your cichlids are mainly peaceful, I don't see that there should be a problem.

my local had a few small gobies in a few weeks ago! the dwarf ones!
