Okay, I know there are veil tales and double tales, but what is it called when a betta has a double veil tail? When I was treating the guys with some bloodworms I noticed that Clyde's tail, thought it appears to be a veil tale, is split. So would he be a double veil tail? :dunno:

Nope, no large plants. Just a tiny little plant at the bottom of the aquarium, but he hasn't spent much time at the bottom (that I can tell anyway). I've only had him since Monday.

if u can post a good clear pic of his tail i would be able to tell u from the way the rays in his tail are. double tail vt's are odd, iv nvr seen natural ones before -_-

how big is his dorsal fin? does it look like this?
and does his tail also look like this

Hi Coral Dolphin cove,

When a fish is a doubletail usually also has a few other characteristics, the body can be a bit shorter and the dorsal fin is usually almost twice a broad then in a normal singletail betta.

Indeed doubletail veiltails (DTVT) do exist, they would look something like this:

I hope this helped a bit :D.

Many greetings from the Netherlands,

Joep

His fins look similar to both of those pictures, except they don't flare out quite as beautifully as in those pictures. His dorsal just kind of hangs over, too... I'll try to take some pics next week and post them. I can never get clear pictures of my fish, so we'll have to see. :D Thanks for all of your help!
