Hello. Well I don't know how to say this so I will just blurt it out.....On some of my platys (I think just the females) their bumholes have turned white

It seemed to occur while I was having some high levels of nitrites & nitrates. the water is much better now, but their butts are still white. It's not a huge white fluff or anything, it just looks white around the outside. Any ideas???
