Hello guys.

I'm having problems with web hosting and was wondering if you could help.

Basically I have webspace from one hosting site and a couple of domain names from another register site and cant for the life of me figure out how to use them together.

Basically I have mysite.myhost.com and I just want mysite.com

Using redirects I managed to get it so that if someone types mysite.com into the address bar they would be forwarded to mysite.myhost.com but thats the best I could get.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

T

Basically you need to get the DNS addresses (usually a primary and secondary address in case of server failures) from your hosting company - this tells the WWW where your site is stored. my hosting company emailed these out on sign up.

You then go to the company who registered the domains for you and then you will find a place in the options to enter these DNS addresses. This will take upto 24 hrs to update everywhere and allow you in via the mysite.com URL. ( E.G. I use 123-reg and so go to manage mysite.com domain and then choose manage dns to update it ).

Hope this helps

Thanks for your help though I have done that and im able to see the mysite.com address in my hosting cpanel but it just wont let me use it as the primary site and just stays at mysite.myhost.com. I think I must just be missing something really obvious.

Thanks
