Dogface Puffer

I just bought a dogface puffer and he has been keeping to himself (which is normal for a new fish) but if I leave the room for a few minutes he wedges himself in between the glass and liverock to the point where he is almost stuck. Is this normal behavior?

It may take him awhile to get use to the new tank.

i read that they secrete a poison if they die that will kill everything in the tank is this true?

Yes, that is true. Most puffer species can "nuke" a tank upon death if not removed immediately.
