Yeah, they're pretty much only worth their weight in plastic... As mentioned Tunze skimmers, or the Deltec MCE 300 are really your best choices for a hang-on.

but note the tunze arent hang ons, they are in tank units, but they are small and sleek.

hmmmm ok. And another thing was that i was wondering whether these lights are ok for marine T5 high output one marine glow and one life glow or should i have power glow instead of one or the other i think they will both be 24 watt (might put this on a new topic).
Thanks for the info i might keep it because i can see how it goes and someone else is offering me an air power one for free not shure which one though but he wants to buy this red sea one off me for £60 when i am getting it for £40.

T5HO are great, just as good as MH if used on individual reflectors.
