Hi,

Yesterday, I thought this may have been Anchor Worm - but since reading up on it and speaking to my LFS I'm now not so sure. Does anyone have any ideas??

No, that is the fishes adipose fin! the fish is a species of tetra and all tetras have them.

I thought anchor worm looked like one of those annoying little plastic tags you get on clothing? (the ones you should cut off with a pair of scissors, but you try to bite it off and hurt your gums, or pull it off and rip a hole in the garment).

Anchor worms look like a little tubey thing with two little tenticals at the end, not normally found on tropical fish, more often a ailment of goldfish.

Well don't i feel stuipid :stupid: :stupid: well at least i have nothing to worry about.....all i will get in my ear from the other half is .....i told u so :*) :*)

Well i can see the likeness...apart from the different shaped anal fin lack of the large black spot just forward of the tail and the different shape of the mouths, and the fact that the tetra has teeth set into the front of its jaw ???? :p

Difficult to say really, so many look alike, but my first guess would be a Buenos Aires tetra (Hemigrammus caudovittatus).
