I would like to add 2 more bronze cories to my aquarium and i have never seen them in petsmart, my local pet store(owned by a single person) sells one for 15 dollars and i tell the guy that it is over priced but he says that they aren't so i'm really not looking into paying 30 dollars for two cories i mean who sells them for that much, from what i have learned, bronze cories are common aren't they?

It is common for an LFS to overprice fish. If they are on petsmart's website, some stores will sell them but not all of them. My LFS sells cardinal tetras for like $8.29 or $8.49 then petco sells them for $3.49.

Petco and petsmart both do, but they are popular.

They have emerald green cories at my petco :p

You may have to check a couple of different petcos or petsmarts though. Each will stock slightly different

well i have recently that emerald green cories aren't really cories, they are a type of catfish called Brochis which is usually confused with cories, i found out after putting a few in my tank and i actually want to mate bronze catfish not the brochis. They have the Brochis in my petsmart but not bronze :(..... But why to LFS over price the fish, are they healthier?

When you search corydora catfish, this is all i get: http://www.petsmart.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=corydora%20catfish&origkw=corydora+catfish&sr=1

They are usually in much better condition and a chain store can order in more of a bulk because they can order say 20,000+ neon tetras every week for all their stores around the world, but an LFS would be buying maybe 10-25 neon tetras every week or two. In this event where they cannot get as good of deals from HUGE bulk buying they will need to overprice the fish to make a living and a profit. Not fair in a consumers eyes but once you think about it it is logical. This is the reason I purchase fish at petco.

I would suggest you order them online, but you said you didn't want to pay $30 so I don't think you'll wanna pay $30 in shipping+ cost of the fish....

Yeah i think that for a common species $30 is a bit too much since i want to, i mean their life is priceless but $15 dollars each.... i have to say that is a little bit too much for once bronze cory.

You just have to look around if you do not want to pay money to have them shipped. I was a few corries shy of a good shoal for months because the LFS didn't have any. Patience, or paying out the wazoo for them..

Darn. If you were closer I'd sell you some of mine since those are the ones that keep surviving. Maybe I really should start breeding them with a purpose!
