Hello everyone! New to the game and just noticed my young clown pleco (I think that’s what he is) has some white spots all over his body.

Does it look like the ich?

Also have in the 30 gallon tank:

1 Neon blue dwarf gourami
1 Angelfish
3 tetra glofish

Thanks!

To me, it does appear to be Ick. But get a few opinions here first. Perhaps our Fish Guru Emeritus @Colin_T will give his opinion soon.

I doubt it is ich. Is the tank properly cycled and is there wood for the fish to feed on ?

I’ve tested ammonia, ph, nitrates, etc. and everything is perfect!

There is one piece of wood in there. Should I put more? Here is a picture of my tank.

Thanks for the help. Can’t tell if the spots are natural on the pleco or if it’s ick.

I’ve also included a picture of the pleco’s underbelly.

It might be ich but it's hard to tell since the white spots are inconsistent shapes and almost look like part of his coloring.

I would definitely add some larger pieces of driftwood for the plec and even some caves. As it is right now, he doesn't have any hiding spots in the tank and that can cause stress. Stress can make fish vulnerable to diseases, including ich. Plecos also tend to be shy so hiding spots are a must.

I’ve only had these guys for less than a week. I’ve only fed them once (tropical flakes), but I also gave the pleco an algae wafer! I’ll def get some more driftwood so he can hide.

Here are some additional pictures.

My question was if the tank was properly cycled. "everything is perfect" doesn't say much.

The fish is a wildcaught fish, that looks thin and sick. Being out in the open is a bad sign. Besides the fact it has close to none hiding places it needs wood to eat and for its digestion. They are mainly woodeaters.
