does music effect fish

fish are my life said:
like if you have heavy rock playing would they be more aggresive or wouldn't it mater. im just curious really
They might act different because of the beats but I would be worried about that, I imagine it to be very unpleasent for the fish.

:dunno:

I know our fish can hear through the tank because whenever we talk loud or there is a loud noise in the room, they re-act by coming to the front of the tank. Sometimes my husband can walk into the room out of the view of the tank and do his "baby talk" to the fish and they hear him and get excited and come to the top of the water.

Ahhh, think they are about to be fed! lol Mine do that all the time! They are so greedy, they think coming to see you will soften you into giving them some food.

Not on my watch!! OK, sometimes!

I was wondering this same thing actually, because I am a musician and do a lot of recording in the house. They don't seem to be bothered at all, though. Just wondered if it could make them stressed or something.

It's just the loud bangs that they react to. The music wouldn't really matter to them. their sensory organs are different from ours, and I doubt they can discern rythms in the music. It's probably just cacophony to them.

Just make sure you dont play any Black Sabbath or Beatles records backwards..

Yeah it is also probably whatever they become accustomed to... My bettas don't even seem phased by loud music, it's just sharp, abrupt sounds that will get them. Like if say a room was real quiet then someone slammed a door, it would make them jump.
