does keeping you tank above 28 degrees C

Im sure I was told this years ago that the bacteria that causes white spot cant live in a tank with a temperature of 28 degrees or more.

Ive always kept my tanks on the warm side and have very few problems but never white spot......however nobody else seems to have heard this before which lead me to believe maybe Id simply made it up or dreamnt it
