Does it look like snakehead?

My friend bought such baby fish. He told me that it is snakehead. But i think it may be bowfin fish or something else. Is it looks like snakehead?

No it doesn't look like a snakehead but the picture is from above and it is extremely hard to identify fish from above. Put it in a tank and photograph it from the side and post that picture.

He sent only this pic. And this one is no more. He bought 10000 baby fish for fish farming. But few months later they got any disease and all died. Dealer of baby fish said it is snakehead but i dont find him snakehead. Its anal fin is very short and dorsal too. It looks like bowfin to me.

If they got sick a few months after he got them, then the water quality might have deteriorated or something contaminated the pond. Do you know if they died after it rained, or was it hot and dry when they died?
If they died after rain, something might have washed into the pond.
If it was hot and dry, the oxygen level might have dropped and they suffocated.

Um maybe... it’s hard to tell at that age, and if it’s a snakehead put it in a really big aquarium, because they are an invasive species.

It was winter i think. Snakeheads are hardy fish and native to india. So it was new for me that they got sick. Because in medium water streams i have seen them. Also i went to find baby snakeheads but haven't found any yet . That pond was on farm and its sides above 4 feet from ground

When they get about 800gm - 1kg they used to eat here.
Mostly channa striata is used for eating. They dont grow that big

I have bettas, swordtail, zebra danios, gaint danios, guppy, pleco, koi, molly etc.
Small fishes. But im looking for snakehead baby (channa andrao or channa orientalis) but its hard to find one. Tell me if you know someone having those kind of fishes

I have some snakeheads. But I don't wanna torture them as I found them flopping in the beach, trapped in plastic cover.
