I actually found myself lying to my work buddies when they wanted to know why I wasnt coming out for a few pints after work. I was off to the fish shop to get new shrimp. Also everytime I see a small or odd shaped tank the first thing I think of is how good it would be for a shrimp tank and what kind of shrimp I could keep.

Please tell me im not losing my marbles and theres others like me

t i can see why you like them lol
hope them leaves are working out for you :)

Aye totally, actually i'll need to boil up some more cos they have reduced the last bunch to sticks.

I'm like you except for the lying part.

Well in fairness I just said I had to catch a shop before it shut which wasnt really a lie

I sometimes wonder why I find them so facinating, but yeah its a bit of an obsession with me.
:)

I think they are brilliant wee beasties lol, my son bought me 6 amano as a present and they got my initial interest sparked, I have just bought some cherrys and now looking to start a tank just for shrimp and add to it with more species of shrimp.

I am completely insane for shrimps...I have all kinds of varieties and find myself going out of my way to go to LPS (20-30 miles away) to see what they have new in...now I also have the Malawi bug and it is biting me hard at the mo aswell, and I must admit I have gone mad for bristlenose's! as i have babies.

So I would not worry too much. You are not alone in your obsession (or obesssions in my case!).

Yeap, got a massive colony in my RIO240, and have a separate shrimp tank in the bedroom now. The other half’s loves watching the little guys floating around whilst she watches TV before bed.

Now i want a bigger tank downstairs (400-500 Ltrs) so the 240 can go in the spare room and another bigger tank for the bedroom!!!

I also find myself sticking java moss to everything!! I have about 7 large pieces in my 240, one bit in the 28ltr upstairs and I’ve just got some Ricca off eBay!!! The shrimp love it!

How do you do it? My hubby cant stand the tanks going out of the front room and even then he moans that I have too many tanks. I dont think he realises how luck he is that I dont have them in every room in the house.

I have a 120 lido (for my shrimp/tropical fish)
Rio 180 (malawi set up)
a nano tank (for any fish that have an illness or for fry)
a 2 footer (that is in my shed in the garden and my hubby wont let me fill up with more fish!).

I'm getting more attatched to my shrimp. Only thing holding me back from getting more is the damn guppies, want them out as they are eating baby shrimp (cherry shimp) but I keep finding more and more guppy babies, not easy to remove them all in a planted tank.

Think my next step will be tiger shrimp when I can rehome the guppies, be nice if I could find some blue tigers.
However, I don't think shrimp will ever overtake my interest in NW cichlids :p

How do i do it? Trick is to let her think the tanks for her and then slowly take over it!!!!

I do the water changes so why not!!!

I hope she doesn't read this!!!

I'm not obsessed with shrimp, but my shrimp are obsessed with filling up my tanks. For me its nano-fish I've pay $10+ for a fish that barely goes over and inch long .
