i dont use any my livebearers never have fry!

Are you sure about that? I thought the same thing till I was cleaning my Eheim a couple of weeks ago. After I'd emptied out all of the media I was about to wash the remaining stuff from the bottom of the cannister when I noticed something moving about. Turns out it's a Platy fry! Well, where there's one there are probably more. I spotted 2 more in the tank, hiding out under the log at the bottom. They are a bit bigger than the one in the filter; they actually look like little platies.

Now my eheim and my OTB filter have mesh over the intake to keep the fry out of the works!

I use the plastic trap as well
