Do You Think He's Happy?

He is just very sensitive, so I shant tell him you were laughing at him! :(

But that betta struck me as kinda neurotic rather than an interior decorator or super pimp.....couldn't you just see him staying up in the middle of the night going "OMG!!! There's an empty space, I just CAN'T deal with that!!!" *Bubbles insanely* "Okay, okay, it's good, AHHHHH, there's another empty space!!! MUST BUBBLE MOREEEE!!!!!"

I literally laughed out loud at this. He's beautiful- my betta doesn't make bubble nests :/

just realised one of mine did but stopped and I have moved his tank over xmas so I am going to move him back tonight. do you know why yours doesnt make nests?

I did another water change tonight so lets see if tomorrow he's built 5

willtang3000 the substrate is just regular sand :)

ezrock The plants were on sale at a shop here in Sweden. They weren't even a name brand so I couldn't even tell you what to look for but if you look around your local shops I'd think you'd be able to find something similar. I think I even remember a member on here having them for their bettas too but I can't recall who it was. :*)

I used to have a problem with none of my boys making bubble nests. They all lived in a divided tank. Then I decided to go the single 2.5 gallon kritter keeper way. I use sand, river stones, and silk plants in each of their tanks (I have 3 boys). I let them see eachother maybe 15-20 mins a day and do water changes every 3 days. I feed brine shrimp, bloodworm and pellets. The temps in their tanks are around 79-80. Now all 3 make bubble nests religeously. I am not really sure what it is that I changed that they now make bubble nests so often. Maybe the frequent water changes and living on their own. Whatever it is I am happy that they seem happy
