Do you think anyone could be as sad and lonely

Great photos of such wonderful subjects. :)

He looks deep in thought

I'm glad to know that they care for their needs at that zoo,Ken. If you remember the "escape gorilla" story I posted not too long ago, it's clear that they just aren't very happy in Texas :/
Probably all the rednecks and the crazy weather
I can empathize

Dublin zoo has improved so much over the year's and i have to agree Ken most of the animals look so happy and the habitat looks very natural. The only animal that i thought looked unhappy was the tigers, One of them was just pacing up and down all day and looked very unhappy.

Thanks guys :) I thought I was the only one who enjoyed looking at our closest relatives, especially when they express much of what we regard as human emotions :) Apart from a few moments of looking sad, all the monkeys were having great fun in the sun, some were practicing making hats out of straw and others liked to paddle their toes in the water :)

The tigers in Dublin zoo just had cubs recently, so I guess that does seem positive, though the polar bears were very unhappy in their enclosure, they were sent to a much largerfacility in Germany Ithink, after an animal shrink decidedthey were depressed. Polar Bears are one animal that dont do well in captivity, most monkeys seem to adapt very well, once they have plenty of personal space and never ending food supplies!

This guy in particular was having lots of fun showing everyone his chicken impersonation!

Ahhhhh Ken, what can I say!????
Those pictures are sincerley worth a 1000 words......they really touched my heart!

Ken you are most definetely not the only person here who enjoys apes. If I could do only one thing for the rest of my life, it would be to work with apes.

I have a Jack Hannah video called Zoo Babies my Mama gave to me when I was 10. There is a section devoted to baby apes and to this day it's my favorite video to watch. :)
