I don't stress at all. In fact, I feel relieved that I'm doing it. I think of it as adding calcium, minerals and removing nitrates, ie, improving the water column. SH

Wolflife, please check your SG level and stop adding anymore salt immediately. The salt content should be within 1.022 and 1.026 prefferably. If you have got an SG higher than this then syphon out some water (perhaps 5% and add fresh RO water (no salt added) as this will hepl bring down the SG> Chek the levels again tomorrow and if its still high then do the same thing. Don change it all in one go as the stress might kill off the fish.
As for the frequency of changing water... Welli add the topup water a cou ple of times per week (fresh RO water). But true water changes (with salt) should be done at your discression. I think a good operating proceedure would be 4-6 weeks. If you feel that you need a water change before this then by all means do so. I would not change more then 205 per change but if perameters are good before changing then i would be content with 10%

Generally speaking you should be testing for Nitrates and changing the water accordingly, ie. when they reach a certain level. This will differ from tank to tank as no tank has the same bioload as another, some may do a water change every week, some every 6 weeks.
