Do you name your fish?

I name the individual ones, the bettas all have names. The male is Alvin Purple, the turquoise female is Jewel, the other more green turquoise is called Jade, the red one is called Scarlet O'Hara and the fat one is Miss Piggy. I haven't named the fry until I find out what their full adult colours and personality are. I don't name the schooling fish even though I can tell them apart- I guess I'm just lazy.

Only my bettas and my otos are named right now. My otos are "Energizer Bunny" and "Roboto". The bettas are Alpha and Gamma Oh, and I named my mountain minnow again- I think this one is called Jenna (after a couple years I couldn't tell them apart anymore), even though it's a male.

It depends on the fish , and how they react to me .

Every one of our tiger barbs is named Nemo, all our plecos are named big shark, (compliments of my three year old who loves Nemo and tells all the fish to watch out for the big sharks) all our cichlids are named K or C names, Cole, Kale, Kaje, Crusher, Cain, Colby etc.
Then our bettas are named after actors, Cage, Hanks, Nicholson, etc.
we used to have a pair of Oscars that were contantly spawning who we named Jenna Jameson and Ron Jeremy.

When we had our big tank with pacus, they were Mongo, Chongo, and Bongo.
My Mbunas were named by my son so they are "Grandma, Grandpa, my nother Grandma, my nother Grandpa, Blues Clues, another Nemo, Dory, Edward (I don't know an Edward ) I really couldn't tell you who is who.

my red devil is ricky (his mate was lucy, her death brought me here)
my Pygocentrus Naterri are killer, crusher, brutus, Kujo, and fluffy
my Serasalmus Rhombeus is Samson
Arrowana is Zeus
angelfish are aries and hermes
turquiose severum is neptune
cat, plecos, jewles, green terrors and all babies don't get names.

My best friend decided to name my original guys:

Red guppy - Pischnikity (Pish-nick-it-ee)
Yellow guppy - Melfusious (Mel-fuce-ee-us)
Marbled angelfish - Alfred
Colombian tetra - Ringo
Scissortail rasbora - Star
Neon tetra - Neo (yes, we love the Matrix)
Black widow tetra - Barney
Kribensis - Alouisius (Al-oo-ish-us)

I later changed Alouisius's name to Manson (after the serial killer, coz she was so dang psycho), but her & all but the colombian & black widow died off Each now has 3 friends - the colombians are named the Smurfs coz they're bright blue with red tail & fins (Papa Smurf's the biggest, original one; Smurfette's 2nd biggest one, often hanging around him; Brainy Smurf's the 2nd smallest, who always knows when there's food around first; & Baby Smurf's the smallest). The black widows are the Rubbles - Barney (the biggest), Betty (2nd biggest), Hoppy (the Rubbles' pet, my 2nd littlest guy), & Bam-Bam (the baby).

Ok, so they're weird names but I reckon they're cute.....all will be fine untill they get to the same size lol.

Well if i try to name all my sishes then i'll be comatised by the time i figure out who is who. my neons look almost like clones. but i might name the otheres they're all very different.

I have named some of my fish. I stopped because I was just too lazy.
Here are the ones that are named:
Common pleco - Hurcimer
Black tetras - Bonzai and Sllor
Leopard cory - Sedona
Silver Dollar - Marilyn Manson
Tiger pleco - Jethro

And my other pets:
Papillon - Barkley
Rats - Simon and Garfunkle
Zebra finch - Fabana

Hey, did you name your pleco Jethro after my song? or is it just coincidence? Wait a minute, that post was before my song! How weird, we both have plecos called Jethro.

I name fish that are individuals for whatever reason and have a group name for the others:

My bamboo shrimp is called 'The Luggage'
My clown plec is called 'Beano'
My danios are 'The Assasins'
My tetras are 'The Canting Crew'

If anyone reads Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels they'll know what i'm on about
