My stupid aunt learnt Feng Shui recently, and thanks to her, I had to move my betta from his 6 gallon home in the bedroom to a one-gallon bowl in the living room :(

I just plain hate Feng shui. Do any of you follow this stupid thing? If yes, then lemme tell you that the Feng Shui thats marketed today is just a whole load of mumbo-jumbo. People just wanna make money by selling pyramids and ugly toads. So dont fall for it. The "original" feng shui didn't have any ugly toads.

I'm sorry but I couldn't help but laugh when I read that.

I'm sorry your aunt made you move your Betta. Is there anyways you could explain to her that it's YOUR pet and you want it near you in a large tank in your bedroom?

Indeed, no way should you be forced to keep your betta where you dont want too.

Fengshui is remarkable. And if you took the time to study it in trueth it really is facinating. Much of the marketed stuff we see today is a load of bull####. Its not true and its just made to make a quick buck. Research the right stuff and fengshui is facinating. :)

Hmm... maybe explain to her that downsizing a betta's home isn't going to bring her good fortune or whatever it "should" do... mainly just ticks the betta off. lol.

I don't follow feng shui for a couple reasons.... first, it's being exploited by markets and businesses that usually don't even know how to say it... secondly because it's just difficult to decorate around... and third, I don't like someone telling me that I'm missing out on something in life because I live in a "L" shaped house.

Well, I've tried explaining it to my aunt, but my parents are also against me in this respect. The living room isn't big enough for the 6 gallon tank, coz my 23gal is taking all the space there is.

So the bowl it is. The betta doesn't seem to mind it though.

feng shui is very similar to Tai Chi Quan in the way it's being trussed up, streamlined for mass consumer interest and marketed to the elderly. "If you follow these 10 simple steps, you'll live to be two hundred and get rich while doing it" It isn't that simple. It takes years (decades) of practice (obsession) to get proficient (passably so). (sorry to get on my high horse, i teach martial arts and just got in a long arguement as to it's effectiveness with a boxer/wrestler ;)) But yeah, your aunt is crazy. Tell her that if the betta is kept in that one gallon bowl, it will get depressed and most likely sick. And sick dying animals kept in a KFC-style cage don't do a whole hell of a lot for restricted energy flow and opening up the dan-tian point and whatnot.

I dont know the first thing about feng shui and I probably cant say it right either but one thing is for sure

THE 6 GALLON IS A HEALTHIER PLACE FOR THE BETTA!!

Who wants a mopey fish in their living room?? Smiley fish give me good vibes

Hehe! I agree

I also agree with mr.miagi - Feng shui is a fabulous thing, and can improve your living. People like to taint things in order to make them more appealing to consumers. You might like traditional Feng shui. Research it some time - in the mean time, put your betta back in its 6G tank
