I'm a vegetarian, have been for years.
Good for you :good: You don't have to worry about cholesterol. I don't eat mammals, reptiles or amphibians.

Vegetarians are at risk of high cholesterol

I don't eat fish or any animal I've been veggie for years, just asked the kids if they would eat fish and they are not sure (they eat meat)

I have an intolerance to fish and all seafood - it doesn't stay down longer than a few minutes at most. So I do tend to avoid it :p

I love eating fish, but it has to be filited, can't be having all those tiny little bones on my plate. I think that ther is a big difference between the fish we keep and those which are availale as food items. Maybe we could ask any fish keeping farmers if they eat beef pork and lamb. LOL

I do eat fish, but tend to only eat white fish ie, cod, plaice, haddock etc. I like prawns too. ooh and also tuna.

I don't like fishy fish if that makes sense. You know, fish with strong flavours.

God yes. Not sure what I'd do if I I coudnt eat fish! I Catch them for sport, catch them to eat, and keep them as pets!

My favorite creatures!

Its a good rule of thumb that if a Fish smells of 'fish' or tastes overly 'fishy' then it is not fresh.

I keep fish and eat fish, doesn't bother me at all. I have even thought about taking it one step further, eating a fish I have raised.
What's put me off is I read somewhere that some medications can cause cancer, and lacking a brand new tank that I know hasn't seen any meds or other unknown chemicals to raise this fish in means it probably isn't worth the risk. Would be nice if someone could clear this up for me or to hear from someone if they had done this before.
Just 1 quick point...What doesn't cause cancer at this day in age? Pesticides, herbicides, growth hormones given to animals can have an effect on human body, fumes from a car, cigarette smoke, the sun (kinda hard to avoid that ...lol). My point is with all the crap humans invented, basically living causes cancer.

Rant Over

I will always eat fish although I've never found fishing appealing. Although I don't mind that, just the large scale net fishing at sea.

my family does eat a good amount of fish and we do go fishing on our pond and the inlaws pond, but my husband has strict guidelines about size and such of what we catch. we went last week and aparently a 12 and 14 inch bass are far to small to keep, so they get unhooked and reliesed right away.

*Technically* I am a pescetarian, I don't eat meat but I eat fish. But if anyone asks I just say I am vege, makes life easier.

Eating fish because I keep fish doesn't bother me as I don't keep cod, plaice or haddock :D

I love fish - both as a hobby and to eat. Having said that, last night I opened a tin of Mackerel to have in a sandwich and I must admit that I found it a bit difficult to swallow cos I kept wondering what the little fishies must have looked like before they ended up in tomato sauce! Awww!

Still, I just have to remember that there are fish we eat and fish we keep - I don't think many of us would keep a whopping great cod fish as a pet really, so I have no qualms about having the occasional portion of cod n chips.

We eat fish, but I am very picky. Pretty much only eat what we catch fresh. We do not eat scavengers (catfish), or fish without scales (sharks, stingray, etc.) We only keep fish that will have a pretty large fillet and white meat. Flounder is my favorite ! Have to say I am a bit more sensitive about it since fishkeeping though.
