Direction

What u do is put undergravelfilter in tank when its set up.

Fill the tank stop at 2 inches from top then put on the power filter then at the stesscoat to dechorlinize the water wait 1 day to put the stress zyme in .when u do put both in let the tank cycle for a week.
Then add the fish oh and keep filter on while cycling oh get a themoneter every day keep heater on until it hit 70-75 degrees then turn heater off

Well, i personally think ugf are like a pain in the ass to maintain and they arent really necessary if you just have a normal power filter. Tiger barbs need to be in groups of at least 6 or they start beating each other up. A common pleco wont be very happy in anything under like a 55 gallon, and even then, it wont be too happy. You are going to receive hell for mentioning painted glass tetra from other members of the forum, so never suggest buying those. If you just let the tank run for a week, its not really cycling because there is no source of ammonia. To start the cycle, put some pure ammonia in there and test it until the ammonia starts going down. If you cant get a hold of ammonia, just throw a dead fish in there or some food and let it sit there for a month. You shouldnt turn your heater off because the water will get cold and your fish would be dead.

Edit: Oh yeah, get a heater with a thermostat built into it. I use visatherm stealths because they are a very good heater. NEVER cheap out on a heater! If you must spend twice as much to get a good heater, do it anyways. I know the cheap heaters are like 10 bucks a piece, but you will regret not spending 20 bucks on a better heater.

How old are you anyways grimmy?

specify on what type of pleco as there is alot that will not be sutable for a 10-15g.

angelfish should be kept in pairs or trios IMO

tetras need groups of 5-6

barbs need groups of 5-6

no neons with angelfish

yes but if u use stres zyme it speeds it up by 2 week but i guess my caresheet sucks

nothing truly speeds up the cycle, other than frozen bacteria.

and your caresheet doesnt suck it just needs improvement and editing

simple answer.... NO. It seems like you just pulled random info together (most of it being wrong or ideas that I don't agree with) and said "here is what you need for a 20 gal. tank"

Don't take offense but sometimes individuals just need to read the threads to learn a bit more about fishkeeping and not make any contributions until you have a solid knowledge base.

just a suggestion

I would research a little bit more. Maybe just provide some cycling, small fish topics. If you were to do it again, I would research a lot and definately improve on your grammar/spelling, as it's frustrating to read "U" instead of you, etc, and doesn't show you put much effort into the article.

getting back to the UGF i have just removed one from a hexagonal 55 litre, as it caused too many problems. Just purchased the new fluval 105 external filter by hagen. Managed to get it from an ebay shop inc. media kit and delivery for under £50 brand new.

I cycled for 5 weeks and have had a few fatalities already that i have had little control over. If it was a new tank I could see how much hassle cycling would be....

I have learned new ways to maintain the tank and look out for ailing fish.

Thanks to proper fishless cycling i was able to read up for a month on fish that would go in my tank and issues with some species that don't mix.

Now i have the knowledge but this is not great as its not practically applied so im still learning. Take a step back and read almost ALL stickys in the beginners area as this covers almost all starting questions.. then if there is a bit you do not understand ask.

i can see your eager but take a step back think and re think then step forward and restart better to take some time and effort than end up with a expensive swamp....
