Cloud scared the daylights out of me this evening. I went upstairs to feed him, and he's just chilling by his plants.... not moving. I bend down to look at him and he shot up to the top.... :sly: Do they sleep? It looked like he could have been taking a nap, and woke up to my big head asking him if he was alive or not.

Yes, all fish sleep, though they're half awake though. That's what I've heard.

Yes, bettas sleep but since they must keep coming up for air they take little mini-naps throughout the day rather than one long snooze at night. That's my theory anyway.

Mine sleep at night mostly. But I think it’s like a dolphin, in the fact only part of their brain sleeps because the other part needs to remain awake and tell them they need air. They'll start going to bed in a couple hours. They'll hit the hay around midnight if I give them their dinner earlier. But if I don't, they'll wait until 2, then go to sleep with or without dinner.

Is it sad I know them that well?

No it's not sad Styx, it's organised. :D Mine have their little siestas throughout the day because I'm usually up late so they sleep while they can.

Mine seem to doze on top of their plants...not to far to go up to find air. Could we get them little oxygen tanks and masks then they could have a proper sleep.

I believe mine sleep because I have to wrap thier tanks up at night because of how cold it gets and when I unwrap it they are sitting on the bottom then they look at me and shoot up to the top thinking I'm going to feed them.
