Is one of these worth getting? Do they work?

I want a moonlight on my tank, but am not DIY inclined enough to follow any of the complicated tutorials I've seen!

24 blue L.E.D's give off plenty of light for my 350ltr

look very similar to mine. LOTS of sellers on eBay.

I would recommend finding a set with adjustable brightness, then you can change according to your own taste.

And you just stick them on the hood with aquarium silicone?

Mine came with little..things. Lol sorry, not sure what to call them. Little square things that you stick to the hood and then the strip of moonlights are held on with plastic tie things. They have adjustable brightness too.

Love them, never had a prob with them *touch wood*.

Do you have a link to the ones you've got?

i would like some moonlights too and ones with ajustable brightness would be better, how many would i need for a juwel rio 300?

I was going to make my own, but then came to realise that I am not an electrician so I changed my way of thinking and ended up going for these Aqua-Brite

Not the cheapest way, but you can create some amazing effects, I have four white (two in the hood and two submerged) and three blues in the hood. These are all running off independant timers, so my main tank lights switch off as the white LED's kick in highlighting key parts of the tank during the evening, then later the hood whites switch off and the blues come on and then the white submerged go off leaving just the blues and then they go off in stages until the tank is in the dark. It creates a very effective cycle of lighting, gradually softening as the evening goes on.

In my opinion of this hobby... do not compromise, decide on a look and feel you want for the tank and then go for it, don't settle for something if it doesn't meet YOUR desired end result. For most of us the tank is the main focal point of a room, so you should never look at it and think to yourself that it isn't quite right. Some people don't like moonlights, some go for the white/blue/off routine, I have chosen a phased approach, none are right for everyone and none are wrong for everyone, but everyones should be right for themselves.

most come with little sticky pads to attach them. Mine dead lose thier adhesion after a while (always likely due to the moisture) so I simply used a drop of superglue and re-stuck them.
