Do Tetras.......

I only have two, but now I have one. And their not mine their my sisters. These are her first fish, ( I think she is just beginning, well, basicly so am I. It wasn't really that big. I think it was the size of those little fish bowls that you can buy at petco. But it was less than 3 gallons.

And I must add that they are blueberry tetras.

unfortunately, tetras are schooling fish, so it is likely they will become more agressive when in small groups. to add to this, your tank is very small, which will lead to agression.

Does it have a lid or a filter? A tank that size is really only suitable for one betta, and without a lid, even a betta will jump out.

I never knew fish were that stupid. Jk. No it doesn't have a lid, the fish was in the bowl. I was thinking that maybe the other one killed it, because one was still alive while the other was dead while :S missing an eye.

ok. Just wanted to make sure it was from agression rather than a disease. You do need to get a bigger tank, as a 3 gal bowl without a lid really can't hold anything successfully. Walmart has 10 gal kits for $30, and that includes a heater, filter, hood, light, and tank.

Actually I have two ten gallons with a hood light filter thermometer. But I don't have a heater, then again it get's pretty hot over here anyway.

But I was thinking I could put it in the tank I have my four tetras in, unless certain types of tetras shouldn't be together.

Hi,

What tetras do you have? They should be in groups of 6+ of the same variety then you can mix them and they should keep to their own groups. Blue berry tetra? as in whiteskirt injected with blue dye or is it a different type?

If you want more tetras i would say upgrade your tank before getting anymore. they will enjoy the space more and in return will show you their true nature and colours. Which can be worth the time and money.

No, there just blue tetras, with a kind of transparent fin like the blackskirt tetras have. I found it had the fin yesterday after looking closer. And i have redeye tetras and blackskirt tetras. I can't right now, not enough money, it should be good for now anyway because their not tht big yet. But I saw a blackskirt tetra at a fish store that was bigger than the ones I have. So, once they plus the other fish I have start to grow then I will have to upgrade to a bigger tank. They did have a 20 G on ebay for 20$ at first but on the last day it was about 60$.
