evening folks. noticed today that alot of my peacocks were lazing around in the top right corner of my tank were the spray bar faces up and not down, it mad me think they were avoiding the water flow in the rest of the tank. so i decided to point the spray bars on the left side of my tank upwards and now they are lazing around. do peacocks have much current in the wild? if not im tempted to turn all my spray bars facing up to the surface to stop the current in the lower parts of the water.
cheers,
james

Some parts of the lake is really vigorous, with waves smashing against the rocks and the fish love it but im guessing with the haps/peacock's been in the more open parts of the lake they wont have to much water flow. They don't appear lethargic do they?? The current shouldn't really affect them mate, they are strong fish and should cope with a slight current as long as its not flying them to the other end of the tank

it depends on what you mean by peacocks? the cichlids can handle current but the gobys cant really. if they are peacock cichlids and there struggling it might be down to water quality

all my aulonocara sit under fast currents generally avoiding direct current even sitting under internals
they are much more laid back compared to mbuna

thanks for the replys. they dont totaly avoid current. as rifty says they just avoid direct strong current, but they quite happily swim around the tank through the areas that have current.
water parameters are good
cheers,
james
