and if so, could you name a few? by tall i mean about 12-16 inches. i have amazon swords and wisteria but they always end up looking pretty crappy after a couple months. im looking for something as low maintenance as java fern or anubias... only larger. thanks.

Have you tried the narrow leaf java ferns? I have them in my 55g. They grow very tall. I have some almost reaching the top now. They also grow much faster than the regular java ferns in my tank.

Cryptocoryne Undulata 20-40cm
Cryptocoryne Spiralis 50-80cm
Cyptocoryne Becketti - 20cm

Egeria/Elodia and most stems will grow to the water surface.

Where did you get these from?
Are they just a form of the "normal" species?

Defo with the cabomba - constantly having to trim these bad boys down as they fill my 185 litre tank and spread across the surface. They grow real quick and provide good cover for my Gouramis

Limnophila sessiliflora is similar to cabomba and does well in low light.

AC, where have you come across the C. spiralis in the UK? Any online retailers?

Lol. I just sold 12 last week. They don't hang around when they come up for sale. 20 minutes and all gone :)

I may have some more later in the year bu they will be in emersed form as they won't be in my next scape.

I originally bought 1 years ago from the far East. No leaves, just the root and bases of the stalk and from there they gre an multiplied. Same with most of my plants.

r.e. the Java 'Narrow' post above. I would suggest if it gets that long it is microsorum 'needle' and not 'narrow'. they are both thin leaved versions of the Java Fern but the Narow is quite compact and short whereas the needle grows just like you suggest.

I may have some small ones in a month when I break the tank down. Babies meaning not fully grown but they will still get to 80cm or so.

These ones were pruned but still 60cm (These took all of 4 minutes between posting up and money in paypal. lol):

That would be perfect, thanks AC! How much would you want for them?

Anyone mentioned vallis?

Great plant for filling out the back of a tank. Will quickly start to spread along runners and does not need much help to do so.
