Do injured tails grow back?

Hi,

I recently had a problem with a Zabra Danio being too big for his boots. See posts in Fish emergencies.

So now I have 1 Male guppy, 1 Cloud Minnow and 4 Danios with chunks missing out thier tails. All seem to be OK swimming fine. With the eception of the minnow, But he has been ill for about 3 weeks and I can not guess wot is up with him. Anyway I digress!

I really want to know if the tails grow back & is there anything i can do to help them?

Yep, they should grow back . To speed up the healing process you can add a bit of melafix to the tank.

Thank you I feel better now I know they are not mutillated for life!

Melafix is that available in most lfs?

I am just hoping new Danio is not bullied!

I've seen Melafix in every fish store i've been to so far, even Wal-Mart, so you should find it easily

Only a couple of my lfs stock Melafix

Its not as easy to come by in the UK You can make your own using pure tea tree oil. Try using the search facility and see if you can find it

The tails show grow back fine

I order mine on-line most on line shops do it. Otherwise I think the recipe to use is 1% tee tree oil to 99% Serilised water
