As the title says, should I remove the carbon filter when using a dechlorinator solution?
I know carbon removes chlorine slowly, but I wasn't sure whether the carbon will also remove the dechlorinator?

Thanks
Danny

Why are you using carbon? Generally it's beat to take any carbon out and replacement it with filter floss or other biological filtration to give more surface area for bacteria to grow on. Carbon is only needed when trying to remove medication from tanks.

To answer your question, there is no need to remove carbon filter media when using a de-chlorinating solution. :)

Both right, But as stated, Carbon is useless unless to remove medication.

High quality carbon's beneficial qualities usually cease between 2-4 weeks, meaning they no longer are sufficient in removing chemicals and colourations from your tank.

If you were using carbon to remove tannin's or medications, keep this in mind, it will need replacing to have the desired effect :)
