Hi all,

In order to stop the chance of water back-siphoning down my CO2 tube I want to fit an inline non-return valve: I'm having trouble spotting a CO2 specific one: I believe you need CO2 specific tubing so possibly incorrectly I assume I may need a CO2 specific non-return valve? If so can anyone suggest a UK source?

Cheers,

nry

Dont think they do a CO2 non-return valve, although I've thought the same thing. Unlike the tubing you can just use a normal airline one, that what I and everyone else does, no problems to report so far with mine :)

When you consider that it is the NRV that stops the water, it will quickly corrode and sieze if it had metal parts.

Dave.

So do mine, didn't know you could get NRV without metal parts?

EDIT - you'd hope it was an aluminum spring so it wouldn't rust, but I doubt it knowing this hobby :S

this is from the DIY article in your sig

I would avoid choosing one made from metals. The caustic nature of CO2 gas, the high water vapor content of the gas (which usually contain carbonic acid), will cause a metal check valve to fail. Therefore it is important to choose a plastic valve or one designed specifically for CO2 applications. In addition, for the same reasons, I recommend avoiding the use of any metal components in the entire system

then again he might be referring to all metal check valves.

Haha never actually read that whole artilce in my sig  far to long

Interesting though, will see what I can find out.
