My omnivores and herbivores like zuccini cut into thin coins , frozen and then thawed. It solves @itiwhetu 's concern about making a mess, and feeds the fish well. Romaine is okay, but the leaves are large. I also, as suggested above, use a lot of seaweed - it tears easily and non insectivores like it.
