I added 6 neon tetras to a 15g containing a Male Dwarf Gourami earlier today.

I have just seen the gourami devouring 1 of the tetras. But i think the tetra may have already been dead although i'm not 100%.

Is it possible for a gourami to eat a live neon?

Thanks!

Fish best food is fish, if they can fit it in there mouths yes they will make a meal of a fish.

It was probably already dead, I doubt a dwarf gourami could catch a live neon, let alone fit it in it's mouth.

I agree.

i had two dwarf gourami with about 7 neon tetras. the gourami didnt even look at the tetras.

those would have to be some really tiny neons for a dwarf gourami to eat them... i have a gold gourami in a tank with 5 neons and he doesnt even seem to notice they're there

Thanks guys.

The neons are small - but the gourami doesn't look to be bothering the remaining 5.
