Just curious, really, as linebreeding other animals for certain traits can (but not always) affect health and longevity. Does anyone have any data on whether or not albino, longfinned, etc. bristlenose plecos have a reduced lifespan or more health problems than the 'standard' grey ones?

I don’t have that data, but in parrots (which I raise) the longer a mutation has been around the less the effects of the line breeding because that is so many more generations in the past and the genes have been widely dispersed through the healthy unrelated breeding population.
