Do bettas like "stuff" in their tanks?

my betta never rests in the caves and stuff that i put in for htem I do put in a lot of plants in thier tanks and they seem to like that they like to rest on the plant, or play around by squeezing through areas. (make sure the plant is silk)

Is that just so that there are no sharp edges like with plastic ones? Because I was going to use a couple live java fern -- if you think that would be ok?

yeah i'ts just some fake plants are plastic, so whent he betta squeezes through it they rip their fins/body.

Live plants dont' have this problem

My betta likes plants he likes layin under or on top of them.
