Ive never seen one but I had to ask since there are so many other kinds of fish that come in albino:)?

yes, there are, but not in a "strain" such as, albino DT or anything like that. only one or two have ever been reported. the males eyesight was so poor, he couldnt keep a bubble nest. they tried something else, involoving the Bubblenest in a petri dish, but they couldnt get the strain going. the gene was recessive, couldnt get it to come out....
hope i helped :)

wow, i didnt know there were more albinos. i was wrong! :) oops.
dont listen to me :D
where did he get it?

sometimes you can find albinos at petstores, but rarely. and i'm sure there is quite a few people that have breed albino's through selective breeding also.

are you saying i made that up? because i've seen with my own two eyes theres 1 or 2 at petstores from time to time. your one of those people that have to make yourself look smarter then others arent you?

we're just saying it seems unlikely, seeing as every albino thats appeared on the web has sold for upwards of $100
so if a betta breeder who breeds for petstores finds one in his batch, why would he give to a petstore to sell for $4?

Maybe the breeder doesn't look online for prices...since they were breeding for a petstore. Who knows. We'd have to find the person and ask them. :p

geez i wasnt saying that you made it up its cause that there so rare and no i dont try and make myself smarter even though i have been breeding bettas for 7 years now and now i can see how fights in this section are so frequent its a good thing iam not such a big reactor

Siamcrowntail is supposedly working with albinos and having some success by keeping them in absolute darkness so as not to damage their vision, but the line is still extremely delicate and unstable, since I believe he is actually working with ocular albinos and breeding them to cellophanes rather than using true albinos. My fish was a fluke, one of two albinos produced in a spawn, and has died of unknown causes, presumably due to his albinism. The breeder I got him from was Fantasy Aquatic.

EDIT: Just thought I'd add, he was too blind to spawn. I tried breeding him in a container so small he constantly bumped into the female, but still no success.
