Diy sponge prefilter ideas.

I have 2 marineland penguin 350s, i want to make a prefilter to help keep sand and fish fry out of the filters.

Any ideas? Kinda tapered square.

i normally just use foam or sponge from a filter insert like an aquaclear, wrap it around the filter tube and use a few elastic bands to secure it

Ok thank you is there a specific foam/sponge to use to keep out sand the best?
I have playsand now but will be switching to bdbs soom.

You want a fine sponge.

It might, remember its sponge so it can stretch a bit if needed.
