I've decided to make a DIY python, but I've got a question... Anyone here from the US make one? Where did you find your hose? I've checked Home Depot and came up empty and the prices at the fish stores are high enough that it seems like I might as well buy a pre-made one.

Also, what size hose is best for this job? I've been looking for 5/8" just because I found a tap connector that would fit that size. Thanks!

If you are looking for plain hose check out a RV supply shop. They sell hoses designed for potable water.

Thanks, Tolak! Anyone have recommendations on hose diameter? Or does it really not matter, as long as I have a connection for it?

I got everything I needed at home depot. The hose is a boat hose said to be made of medical grade plastic or something. I got a adaptor for my bathroom sink that screwed on so I could attach the hose to it. I just run the hose into the tub to drain the water. Then hook it up the sink to fill.

Makeing this thing will change your life it is so great. When attaching your fish syhon the adapter you want to make sure thoes are the same size. Mine was a tiny bit too small to fit over the adapter so I had to heat the plastic to soften it up so I could fit it. That was the only little issue I had.

Thanks, Snowflake. How long is your hose? I found some hosing at Home Depot that was just basic vinyl hose, but the salesman told me the max length was 20 feet. I need more like 50-60 feet, unfortunately.

Mine is 25 feet I thing. they must have a longer hose I would try another store. You could always make the tube for the vaccum longer too that would help I would buy exta tubeing.

Look on amazon.com for extra long hose. You could always buy 2 all garden hoses connect together.
