that one is the 6500k you spoke about but it also says that 30 wats is actualy 150 watt output?

Theres a lot of "if it doesnt come from a fish shop, I'm not buying it" mentality in the hobby - and if you are unsure then fair play.
Energy saving lamps are just the same as flourescent tubes with ballast gear in one little package.... now we are all supposed to be "green" the cost of these has dropped though the floor - I was in morrisons yesterday, where they were 2 for 50p !!!!!! Only problem is that there was no colour stated, so we must assume they are "white" and not good enough for plant use.

The 30/150 Watt business is a comparison with a "normal" filament incandescent lamp.... ie your old fashioned light bulb with a filament (bit of coiled wire)
What it means is that the energy saving lamp uses only 30 Watts to produce the same light output as an old fashioned 150 W light bulb. - hence the "energy saving" bit - same light from a fifth of the electricity used.... get the idea ?
What is a bonus to us is that the newer lamps are available in "daylight" which produces a colour of light nearer that of real daylight - good for plant, plus it shows fish colours well.

hope this clears it up a little... dont hesitate to ask if not !
