Just built and installed a DIY co2 generator, and have a question about my plan.

Since I can not turn off or regulate how much co2 is being introduced I plan on putting an air stone on a timer.

I plan on the airstone turning on when the lights are set to be turned off, and then turn off the airstone 2 hours prior to the start of the photo period.

I think this might just be for piece of mind, but is this a good plan?

In theory yes. I connected a T piece to mine that i use a clamp on when i want co2 in the tank and remove it when i don't want it in the tank. The tank is in the bedroom so an air stone isn't ideal for my situation.

Thanks Minnt! I'm guessing the T that 1 line leads to the tank, and the other just vents into the air? Then you just move the clamp back and forth between lines?

The line from the water bottle was cut, the T was added, then one section goes to the filter and the other dangles down the side. The dangly line is the one that is clamped and un clamped.

Ok thanks, but can I ask what might be a dumb question.

Is there a benefit to running a line to your filter?

Right now mine runs straight to the diffuser.

I haven't got a diffuser and the venturi fron the filter blasts the co2 around the tank. :good:
