hi,

ive read somewhere not to have a pump and air stone in the tank with a DIY co2 kit, is this correct?

when my last pump broke some of my fish seemed to be gasping for air, will this happen if i take it out when i start with the co2?

thanks.

No airstone when using CO2. It will decrease the CO2 levels which you are trying to raise.
There will be enough O2 for the fish as the CO2 will be used by the plants and converted to O2 for the fish.

Dont forget that in the dark plants produce CO2 as well, so it might be wise to turn it off over night.

really - you sure to turn off air? I mean - how much does it drive out the co2? Im unsure as i thought it would be detrimental to the fish - Especially if theres co2 injected.
Im connfused.

I have an airstone on a timer. I have DIY CO2 so I can't turn it off. My airstone comes on 1/2 hour after lights out and shuts off 1/2 hour before lights on.
