hi. I'm in new zealand. about the sucky things, I can buy them at my lfs so you must be able to get them somewhere. if not, just get a cheap toy with them on and cut them off
I was going to try making my own holes in tubing my self. In nz they're about $25 as apposed to $4.00 for an air stone.
Since I can't afford the air tubey thing either this is what I've done:

ok. if you or anyone gets all this. It's the first time I've ever "drawn" using the keypad. anyway. This is my set up. My air stones are on the gravel, hidden behind the wood, plants, rocks etc. theres 3 streams of bubbles go up, about 6 cm wide each. and it looks really cool. I don't have a massive airpump. It's a masterpet 2001. quite small really with alot of power.
Well, that's my idea. Just get about 1 metre xtra piping, 3 airstones (of your choice

and a connecter thingy (sorry I dunno what they're called). And away you go.
