I have been using distilled water and adding electrolytes and a pH adjuster for my aquariums, as I have heard is the best method. I have had good success in doing so. I just purchased a tap water filter for distillation that attatches to my sink, and am unsure of it's quality and capacity. It says it can filter anywhere from 15 to 150 gallons of tap water depending on my water quality. Does anyone have experience with these home filters? Is this a waste of my time and money, or should I keep doing what I've been - taking distilled water from work in jugs (very cumbersome).

honestly.. it can't produce distilled water unless it distills it.. a filter can never produce water as pure as distilled.. unless reverse osmosis or soemthing.. if it costs a bomb then maybe not but otherwsie u may wanna give it a try
