i inheritted a 50gallon aquarium with 5 large Parrot fish and an algae water. Sadly they were so stressed by the move I lost two. The three remaining are happy, eating and adjusting well. I'm running a 306 fluval as well.
5 days ago one of the fish had large white soares on its head. I quickly flushed 1/3 of the water, removed the carbon from the filter and treated with medicine. Jacked up the heat 86. The fish recovered quickly. But now one of the other fish has the same. It's like I'm fighting a battle as one heals another gets it. What can I do?? I don't want to remove them due to stress. They are all eating and happy.

Are there numerous holes around the head? If that's the case it's most likely HITH or hole in the head, pictures would help a lot

No they are actually white spots. Only located on the top of their heads. I've been treating with a parasite medication for 4 days. Added salt to the tank today. The original fish is fine now, but now the two others have it. And my other fish is completely fine.

Hmm the fish does appear to have HITH I'm thinking the lesions got infected with fungus or bacteria

This is a blood parrot with HITH, I think your fish has it definitely

yes that's exactly what my fish look like. I've treated with parasite and ick medication plus adding salt. Any idea how to cure them?

Tetra parasite guard says that it helps control HITH

Perfect I will go get some tomorrow morning. I've tried a parasite medication but clearly it's not helping for HITH.
Thanks so much!!!!
