Discus

I guess it all depends on how badly you want the fish.

Everyone told me that I couldn't keep discus with the fish that I do, but all is well just the same. It's been nearly a year and everything is beautiful.

Who knows why things work for one person and not another. Maybe it's the size of my tank. Maybe it's the fact that I've always been lucky.

The only thing I know is that beyond the importance of tank maintenance and upkeep there are few absolutes in fishkeeping.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

Which species of Plec are we talking about here? I know of around ten fishkeepers that keep smaller L-Numbered species with their Plecs our board example is Ken or Cian McLiam who keeps an L134 and L191 with his Discus. I agree that the large species like Royal Plecs, Gibbiceps and Commons are all to well known for their aggressive nature when older and I would not keep them with Discus as I would be worried that they would take a liking to the slime coating of larger Disc shaped fish. If you have heard of a smaller Plec species doing this from a reliable source then I would be interested to see a link etc. :)
