My tank is 120cm l, 75cm h, 46cm w
I have 8 discus, 2 BGK one i am trying to sell on, 2 yoyo loaches, 1 royal pleco, 1 blue phantom pleco.
I was wondering what other fish could be put in here...
As i can't have shoaling fish like cardinals because of the black ghost knifefish :(

Can you not add larger tetras, such as Congo tetras, or Buenos Aires Tetras. Both a beautifull when adult, and surely your BGK won't be an issue with them?

Just leave it for discus only. The knife fish will out grow the tank. I would sell him. Too bad about the plecos those are some nice ones. But high temps are not good for them. You could get some Corydoras sterbai they do ok in warmer water.

On snowflaeks advice, that brings Rummy-nose Tetras into the equation. Often i see groups of these swimming in with Discus tanks, and i always end up stopping and looking at them. One of the best choices IMO.

Agree, my LFS used to have a BIG display tank of dicus & rummy-nose tetras..
The rummy-nose stand out nicely but not too much to overpower the discus :fun:

If i was to sell on both the BGK, what could i put in there?
Shrimp?
Rams?
Cardinals/rummy nose tetras?

Before i knew i couldn't have them because of the knifefish, i was going to get both rummy nose tetras and cardinals :(

I have a ram with mine they are great tank mates for discus. Any dwarf cichlid that likes warmer water could work. I had my Festivum with the discus and he was great till he got big. Main problem he was a food hog. He started to get nipping the older he got. I have a bn Pleco too with mine she is great. I don't keep a school with mine I have thought about it. Cardinal tetras are good ones too.

No shrimp they are too tasty.

The bkf can be tank mates for discus in the right size tank. Knife fish get big 20" long. Your tank is not big enough for disus and a bkf. Sorry. They also like cooler water then discus 73f -83f

if you want something a bit larger id go with geophagas red head tapajos. thats what i plan on in my 500 litre. they offer something a bit different to rams and with gbrs being so low quality now aswell. im looking at stocking a load of discus, 2 geos, loads of rummys and loads of sterbai and couple of suitable l numbers. think that will make for a good community.
