Fish Crazy
So my landlord wanted to pull up our carpet and put down new hardwood floors. Nice right? Except the room that had the carpet in it was also home to three of my fish tanks. Most importantly my two biggest tanks sitting side by side in a tight nook.
Saturday came, and we started prepping the tanks for re-location. My wife and I had decided that we would be re-locating both of the tanks in the nook to make room to put a bigger tank there in the new future. While moving the 38 gallon onto a wheeled platform for moving it, the contractor that was helping me lift it slipped. Causing the 38 gallon tank to smash into the 55 gallon tank and cracking a huge hole in the side . Panic ensues.
My wife nets the two fish that are in the 55 gallon, a Green Severum and a juvenile Jack Dempsy, placing them into buckets filled with tank water. I'm trying to catch as much water as I can as the water is duping now into the now open top of the 38 gallons stand.
My lfs has agreed to watch the Severum for a couple of days while we get straight. My landlord agreed to purchase us a new tank. I felt obligated to buy the tank at the same store that is watching my fish for me, but they where out of 55 gallon tanks, So we got a 75 Gallon . I spent last night building a new stand for it, and it is up and running now. For the time being I put the Jack Dempsy in the 38 gallon tank hoping he could co-exist with the large Angel for a day or two. That didn't work, I woke up this morning to a dead Angel . A whole weekend lost. An expense I wasn't expecting and I lost my prized Angel all for a new floor.
