Disaster hits!

You are so good at this. We would love you at our golf club, you are the best promoter I think I've ever seen👍
There would be only one problem with that. I don't play golf

Im just wondering if 2 plecos in the tank are too much bioload with the other stocking.

what sort of pleco?
how big is the tank?

do big water changes and gravel cleans to keep it clean

Sorry to hear about the leaky tank....what a pain

No longterm damage done. A lousy situation that will soon be behind you, thanks to your quick-thinking.

May I make a tank contest suggestion? Here are the rules:

1) Only 90 G tanks with a 20 G sump
2) Tank must house 5 pico catfish of ~5 inches.
3) Tank must have one and only one 6” Synodontis E catfish named Tom
4) Tank must have one large male frontosa and two smaller females.
5) Tank must have 10 other cichlids.
6) Tank must have plants mounted on a vertical acrylic pole.
7) Tank lid must be cut to accommodate submerged terrestrial roots
8) One French Bulldog named Rocky must be seated in front of the tank, which must be on a mahogany stand

Well the good news is all the fish in the 29 gallon are doing very well. The plecos ignore each other and stay in different areas of the tank. The skirt tetras get along fine with the Bolivian ram and the Tiger Barbs. I cleaned up the very dirt 5 gallon and added new gravel to the tank and wil move the 2 surviving neons into it tomorrow. Will add lots of anubias to the 5 gallon and an ornament so they should be fine for now. May eventually add a few shrimp and a nerite snail.

Now I just have to figure out how to break the 35 gallon hex into pieces for disposal without getting broken glass all over the floor...any hints on doing that?

I didn't' lose any fish in the process. All's well that ends well.

Run a craft knife down the silicone joins from the outside of the tank and it should just fall apart.

I was going to suggest a single sided razorblade and cut the silicon from both sides.

Alternatively, put it out front with a sign saying FREE tank but leaks in corner. Use a permanent marker to mark the leaky area. Then hope someone else takes it. People take them for reptiles, plants or whatever.

I put my old Rio 125 on aquarist-classifieds (a UK site) with the words "free" and "in need of repair" in the ad title and photos in the description and someone replied very quickly and took it away.
