Disappearing Pandas And Kuhli Loaches (Ed. More!)

That does need researching. Come on, Science! That's really interesting.
I agree. But i cant think of a way to do it without the potential or inevitable loss of fish...

I've been searching on NCBI-Pubmed, on web of knowledge and google scholar and i CANNOT find a scientific article on toxins released by corydoras...

:(

EDIT: good luck with the sand-job!

Sand done! And, stupidly, restocked kuhlis (I should have waited till after I'd switched gravel for sand, but I didn't think it through). But they're all doing okay...this far. Geez, the water takes a long time to clear even after rinsing the sand...

Also: I tried to do a gravel-sand mix (as in a river bed of sand down the middle), and ended up with sand mixed with gravel really quickly. :/ Learning experiences!

I'll have to take some photos when I'm done. The kuhlis get into the strangest positions.

My driftwood/bogwood has a hole in it, and I can see all their tales out one end all and their heads out another. <3

I'll let you know how it all goes.

Four days—and no loach deaths! Yay!

Though my betta, Delirium, has one raised white spot on him. I dosed the tank with Myxazin for two days when I first added the loaches and switched to sand (I know I should've quarantined, but I don't have a spare tank or filter/heater). Since I've noticed the spot, I've done one 50% water change and (since that didn't help) started the Myxazin again.

Should I use a half-dose with the loaches? Or isolate Deliruim in a container (but again, I don't have a spare heater) and treat him separately? I also have Pimafix, which I guess will be my next line of defence (I know I can't use that with loaches, though). He's a little bit lethargic but otherwise fine.

After nearly a year of thinking a kuhli had died and I was left with just the one, I discovered the two of them together last week. Those beggars can be very, very hard to spot!

Any thoughts on the betta's white spot? I think it's getting better, but not so much.

if it is white spot/ich, then up your temp to 28C and keep the lights off for as long as possible. Upping the temp speeds up the life cycle of the ich, and although I'm not sure on why I was told to keep the lights out, it definitely worked for me.
