Dirty water!!

Tanked, It is only a 10 gallon tank... With that, would I need anything else? I am not sure what that does, but it looked like the right thing. :p

Jeez! I am so stupid when it comes to this stuff... I swear I am smart... :fun: Anyone have any car audio problems? or questions? I can help you there....

First off, you would need an amp capable of being stable at 1/4 ohm... I cant think of one off the top of my head that is that stable...

I need more data... subs are SVC or DVC? 4 ohm load? What subs, and what amp are you wanting to run?

that is good but I would go with the penguin mini. I know I keep praising the biowheel, but I have had great results with them. most of the stroes in this area sell them for about $20. cali may be a bit more expensive as that the way it goes out there. btw if you are ever in Laguna Beach go up summit drive, make a right on del mar and a right on katella st. look west it is one of the most breathtaking views of the cali coast line you will ever see. I grew up @ 1155 katella st.

Ok Tanked. I trust your judgement. I will do both those things. I will get the Penguin Mini with the BioWheel, and I will also take that drive. I live in Aliso Viejo, and my inlaws live in Laguna Niguel... I will let you know what I think of the view, and if I can get my wife to let me get a new Digi cam.... I will post some pics too!

exactly, I run those on my 5 gallon and my ten gallon. the filter is rated for up to 20 gallons but I think that is pushing it. the biowheels take about 6 weeks to mature (they will grow brown and slimy (it is normal don't worry) the brown slime is beneficial bacteria that kills ammonia and nitrite on contact. that filter on a 10 gallon tank will allow some minor overstocking as well.

To get it to cycle, can I just slap in on the tank, and let it run with the cycled water all ready in there.... or should I set it in a seperate setup (which I dont have) to cycle? I want to know so I am not confused when I bring it home like I was with the UGF... which I will probaly leave in for the moment as it cant really hurt anything....

a bit after the problem but... in a book i have it says you often get yellow type water from excess organics. Have you checked your water you use for changes? It may be that you water needs 'scrubbing' before introduction. If so the problem will just recure unless you get a filter that will clean them out.
just a thought,
C

yes phreaxer, you just bring it home, wash the dust off, preferably in a bucket full of tank water and slap in on.
Cool. Thank you very much. I will let you know how it does.

just keep in mind it takes about 6 weeks for the bio wheel to become fully cultured, no over night fix here. the bio wheel will turn a slimy brown color (this is good, do not clean it.) the only maintanence that it will ever need is every few months pull it out and clean the grooves it slides into and the little white pegs that fit the groove. you never have to do anything with the wheel it's self. the older and more brown slime that grows on it the better job it will do.
