Dirty Water

ive had my 40 litre tank set up for a few months now but when ever i do a water change it stirrs up like clouds of crap and stuff howd i get rid of this?

It's normal for a bit of clouding to occur after a water change but it should settle within 1-2 hours. It's mainly just sand particles or dust/dirt/food from the gravel. Do you use a siphon/vacuum when you do a water change? If you don't then using one would help to remove a lot of the dirt and therefore you will have less clouding after a water change.

Normally it should settle down within a few hours like kelly-Jo said. But if it doesn't you may want to clean the gravel/sand with a vacuum or if you already do this, maybe spend a little more time doing it. Chances are it's nothing to worry about and the only way of truely getting rid of the problem is just to leave it, it should go down on its own accord.
